VIAGRA: The US Food and Drug Administration will now allow all prescriptions for the erectile dysfunction drug Viagra to be filled with a “new” product, according to a report today by the FDA.
The drug, which has been in short supply in the US since its launch in 1998, is intended to treat erectile dysfunction in men by improving blood flow to the penile region. This would allow men to achieve and sustain an erection when sexually aroused.
Viagra is the generic version of Viagra, and is available for sale in the US. The most common side effects of Viagra include headache, flushing, upset stomach, and nasal congestion. The new product will be made available on January 1st by the FDA.
“The FDA has approved the new product and will now allow all prescriptions for Viagra to be filled with a ‘new’ product,” said Tadalis D’Elia, a spokesperson for the FDA.
“This is a new drug and a new treatment, and it is the first time this drug has been approved for any indication in the US.”
